Friday Fete: Lemons & Gingham!

If you are bored with your current dinner table, then don't fret! Add some of these fun finds and you will be ready for your next dinner party for 2 guests or 10!

Add Fun Details

I am all about a great accent plate. You have probably seen me use the West Elm Dapper Plates a few times, and would you believe the navy plate underneath was about $.88 at Walmart? Add a colorful salad plate to the mix and it doesn't matter what else you are working with.  These lemon indoor/outdoor plates are from Moon & Lola and pair so well with their gingham placemats (available in-store only).  Find similar lemon plates on sale here.

Repurpose What You Have

I'm all about fresh flowers, but my new favorite centerpiece "recipe" = bud vase + greenery.  Get creative because this will work with just about any plant; ferns, palms, etc.  This involved me cutting my front porch ferns and adding to a chic white bud vase.  When it comes to table linens, why not invest in an option that has multiple uses?  I'm all about getting more bang for your buck, and these Turkish hand towels can be used as table linens, hand towels, dish cloths, or even as a kid's towel!

Personalize it!

Personal touches make any guest feel more welcome, but unfortunately my hand lettering skills haven't quite been honed.  I left it to the expert (The Town Serif) for place cards, but you can do an easy personalization with glassware no matter what your handwriting looks like.  I added numbers to these Pier 1 stemless wine glasses, so guests can also better keep track of their glass for the rest of the evening.  I also gave each guest a mini bottle of sparkling water so they could make their own rose spritzer.

Head over to Pink Verbena to see the step by step video to recreate this table top, and find more fun home hacks! Cheers, y'all!

Friday Fete: A Dandy Little Party!

No, I haven't taken a 2nd job as a bartender (or 3rd or 5th job, but who's counting?).  I do, however, occasionally serve up some One Hope wine at local events because I love being involved with a wine label that gives back!  One Hope gives 50% of profits to charities, and the bottles are all under $20 (unless you want to splurge on a $59 glitter bottle for a special occasion). Holly from Dandy Boutique had me join her with some One Hope bubbly for her recent pop up event at Moon & Lola. Thanks to Holly for including me at this event!

Fun guests, Swank Desserts, and One Hope sparkling brut were the only things we needed to have a fun Friday evening of shopping and sipping!

You can find more photos and recap from this event on Dandy's blog.  If you haven't already checked out their cute Charleston shop, it's a great vintage-inspired women's boutique beside Rue de Jean.   I especially love it because Holly always has super fun entertaining items like my favorite Sunny Life products. They currently carry some ice cream and watermelon napkins and other cute accessories.  Summer isn't showing any signs of letting up here in Charleston, so there are plenty more opportunities for serving ice cream and watermelon to your friends!
