Travel Tuesday: Doors of Palm Springs

In Charleston we are all about colorful homes adorned with flower boxes.  Perhaps my love for our Rainbow Row is part of what has me obsessed with the colorful doors of Palm Springs! It's not every day you see a house with a bright orange or yellow door, except in this adorable desert town.  These unexpected pops of color against the sleek retro exteriors just have me swooning.  Have a look at shots from my recent tour of the doors from the Modernism Week bike tour, or recreate it yourself with the instructions below.

Recreate this tour in a number of ways. If you don't have a car, I would try to rent a bike and have it dropped off at The Saguaro.  From there you take S. Sunrise Way/La Verne to S. Toledo.  Make a right on East Sierra from there.  Whether you're biking or in a car, start at 1100 East Sierra Way to see #thatpinkdoor, and then head to the two lions just down the street (toward S. Camino Real). Make a left on S. Camino Real, and from there you can explore S. Alhambra & S. Yosemite.
