Even though we know the sun usually comes out at some point of the day here in Charleston, there is nothing worse than having a fun day of plans get rained out.  My fabulous summer intern Ashley and I have come up with some great spots for you to enjoy, no matter what the weather looks like. I won't be nearly as sad the next time it rains now that I have a couple of go-to spots that I can count on to be sunny and fun from the inside.  Sunday Funday is ON, rain or shine!

Espresso With a Side of Vinyl

Usually when I leave the house for a rainy day, I just wish I had some coffee and a cozy couch to sit on.  Not only will you find exactly that at Eclectic Cafe, you can also explore their amazing selection of records and books.  They have current and vintage vinyls, and you can listen to the open albums at their little listening station.  How cool is that?!  Tune out the rain and tune into your headphones, and grab a latte because you are going to want to stay awhile.  If you decide to sleep in and check out this place out later in the day, swap your latte for their great selection of beer.  Good thing we brought our brunch money and cocktail money so we could take our pick of beverage ;)

Gnome More Rainy Day Blues

I dare you to feel sad on even the most gloomy day when you step into Gnome Cafe.  The interior is so light and bright with pops of yellow all around, and the plant-based menu is just delicious.  Sometimes it's hard for me to get excited about a salad, but their vegan "tuna" salad (made from chickpeas) was awesome!  There really is no place like Gnome.

Flower Shop Fun

The women of Gnome clearly have a knack for plants in more ways than one.  Gnome co-owner is Sarah York Grimshire of SYG designs. Walk a few doors down from Gnome to the plant covered porch and head inside to snatch up a beautiful bud vase arrangement to take home with you.  The flower shop employees will probably be busy churning out some great arrangements for a local wedding or event, but they will pause to make you some sweet blooms. I got a great little arrangement of ranunculus in a ginger jar bud vase that will make the rainy days at home a little nicer, too.
