If you need an escape to a palm tree paradise but want to stay in the States, Palm Beach is where it's at!  Pack some comfy shoes, your appetite, and your wallet for a great weekend in one of Florida's prettiest cities. My favorite spots are close together, & could be covered in a day or enjoyed over a long weekend:

1. Breakfast & Boutiques

Better fuel up, because you have a lot of shopping and strolling to do!  Palm Beach is very easy to explore on foot, so beginning at the cute & beachy Surfside Diner is a good place to start.  After trying a Palm Beacher Benedict & cup of coffee, head down S. County Rd. to Rapunzel's Closet.  They always have a fab mixture of gifts and accessories to go along with their fun women's clothing, and their bright palm dressing rooms really tickle my fancy.  Since you're in the home of Lilly Pulitzer, check out a great collection of her stuff down the street at C. Orrico.  BTW, here's a fun fact for Lilly fans: Did you know she designed her clothing to camouflage stains from working at a juice stand she opened?!  Her customers started buying more of her dresses than her juice and the rest was history.

2. Worth Ave & Ocean Blvd Strolling-

Enter the Island Company from Worth Ave- and perhaps stop at the rum bar they have inside! Exit through the back to see the most beautiful courtyard and check out other great shops like Helen Ficalora (if it's good Enough for Liz Lemon, it's good enough for me!).  Get back out on Worth and follow the palms toward the ocean, and definitely pop into Roberta Roller Rabbit. The casual travel-inspired brand has a fun and colorful shop with little treats like this tassel necklace.  Finally end on Ocean Boulevard for some people watching and great views of that clear blue sea.  Stroll north less than 1/2 a mile to Royal Palm Way so you can see the prettiest row of palm trees in the sunshine state.

3.  A progressive dinner on S. County Road

You can attempt to get reservations at these fabulous spots, but opting for a couple of impromptu happy is more fun and allows you to save your sheckles for shopping.  Buccan gets pretty packed, so I recommend starting there a little on the early side if you expect to get a seat at the bar or cute lounge area (Happy Hour M-F, 4-7).  This is the place to splurge on craft cocktails and tasty bites.  The burrata was divine & so were the drinks! Get next door to Imoto before 6:30 to enjoy 1/2 off sushi rolls/beer/wine.  Who knew champagne and sushi were such a great combo?  If you're still hungry for dessert, there is a great outdoor atmosphere at Cafe Via Flora (located in the courtyard behind Island Company).

4. Cocktails at the Breakers

A short Uber ride away and down a stunning palm-lined driveway is the Breakers, where you never know who you will run into.  Michael Kors was hanging by the valet, loudly & frantically in need of his convertible.  He humored me with a hug, which was the cherry on top after I had just met my favorite jewelry designer (Helen Ficalora) earlier in the day.  #geekingout!  Okay now pull yourself together, the Breakers is swanky!  Enjoy a nightcap at HMF if you're feeling fancy, or try to go before sunset to catch the views at the more casual Seafood Bar.

The Jackie O in me wants to be a snowbird and spend the entire winter in Palm Beach.  Until then, I'm happy to visit anytime, even if it's just for the weekend!
