Best CHS Bachelorette Weekend Ideas

SerenityTreeYoga-029.jpg

One of the questions I get DM'd about the most on Instagram is, "What should I do for my bachelorette party in Charleston?"  I've given this one a LOT of thought, so I have a great round-up of ideas that I think you and your girls will love.  Also be sure to get in touch if you want to set up a private sip & shop or workshop at our store, Cannonborough Collective!

5 Things to Do With Your Charleston Valentine or Galentine

HOORAY!  Even on the years I was single, Valentine's Day has always been one of my favorite days of the year! I love the colors, decorations, sweets, and any excuse to treat yourself!  I've rounded up a few fun Charleston things you can do to celebrate between now and February 14th, whether you're with your sweetheart or best gal pal.

1.  His & Hers Vieuxtemps Sip & Shop | Feb. 11, noon-5

Take your girlfriends if your man isn't into shopping, but Vieuxtemps will definitely have something for him, too!  There are so many modern gifts for both guys & gals here- the owner even paints some really awesome fly fishing art.

Personally I don't love shopping with my husband, so we are just going for the wine & chocolate tasting (they're sampling some Louis Sherry, so you don't want to miss THAT!).  It happens to be Second Sunday on King Street, so hopefully it will be a nice weekend to enjoy a stroll.  If not, they'll take the party indoors!

2.  Magnolia Plantation Chocolate Walk | Feb 10-11

This sounds like the perfect time to check out Magnolia Plantation if you haven't already.  There will be live music and chocolates from around the world, free with garden admission ticket.  Find more information here.

3.  Cookie Fun @ Cannonborough Collective | Valentine's Day Party: Feb 10 11-1 & Cookie Decorating Class: Feb. 13, 6-8

Shop, sip, and decorate cookies with Bullfish Cookie Company while they last Saturday beginning at 11am (FREE party!).  If you'd like to have a fun and intimate girl's night out, sign up to learn royal icing cookie decorating with Bullfish.  Get more more details and sign up for the cookie decorating here.

4.  Love to Love You Yoga & Beer | Feb 14, 6:30-8:30

Enjoy an evening of yoga with your loved one and awesome instructor Beth Cosi at the new Edmund's Oast Brewing Co.  After the class you get to stick around for beer!  Cost: $15.  Get tickets here.

5.  Puppy Love Happy Hour | February 14, 4-7

Puppies, patios, & pints, oh my!  Head to Bay Street Biergarten for a Valentine's Day happy hour that your pup can join in on.  Live music from The Midnight City Band starts at 6.  I'm pretty sure this is what Maddie Martin wants us to go for V-day!  More details here.

A Weekend in Charleston: The Biker's Guide to Cannonborough-Elliotborough

Cannonborough Neighborhood Shoot (2 of 10).jpg

Opening Cannonborough Collective in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough area of Charleston has been one of the highlights of my year, and we truly love the community we are part of.  My partner Mimi & I often walk and bike around our shop, so we wanted to introduce you to some of the best parts of our 'hood.  Don't forget to pay us all a visit over the holidays; we truly appreciate you shopping "small"!

-Eat-

I eat at Five Loaves Cafe religiously!  It's kind of an addiction that I don't plan to drop any time soon.  My favorites are the mexican chicken chili & the mushroom quinoa salad, or anything from the juice bar.  For dessert, you can't go wrong with anything and everything at the adorable Sugar Bakeshop!

-Drink-

Warehouse has long been one of my favorite watering holes.  They never lack in delicious cocktail specials, and I love how you can pop in for some fun and games for date night (i.e. pool, shuffleboard, and giant Jenga).

-Shop-

If you want to hit up all of the great shops on Cannon Street, I recommend starting at the King Street end at Candy Shop Vintage and making your way toward Rutledge.  CSV sells their signature rice bead necklaces and is always coming out with something new and fun, like these croissant earrings (I get SO many compliments on them!).

After you're bejeweled, stop by our shop next!  Cannonborough Collective has you covered for balloons and all kinds of gifts from local brands and makers.  We also host workshops and events a few times a month, so have a glance at our calendar!

Don't forget to get a little something for your guy at J. Stark; everything from classic bags to wallets and other sleek accessories.

Next you'll want to hit up Mac & Murphy for a plethora of stationery, adorable trinkets, and a rotating assortment of cute prints from the likes of talents like Dorothy Shain.

-Primp-

You're bound to be a little wind blown after cruising around the neighborhood, and you will LOVE our friends over at Drybar!  They don't do cuts or color, just killer blow outs, braids, & up-dos.  My hair is very fine and my least favorite feature, but I still always leave feeling like a rock star!

There are just too many great local spots to name them all; I also love Elliotborough Mini Bar, D'Allesandros Pizza, & Indigo & Cotton to name a few more. The next time you're near our shop, be sure to stop in to get a free Charleston guide created by Lauren BeltramoSAS-E Ink, & myself.  Hope you have fun exploring our neighborhood!

Now Open: The Cannonborough Collective

It's been such a fun first month of having a little storefront on St. Philip Street, Cannonborough Collective.  Mimi (of The Tiny Tassel) & I joined forces to open this shop May 3.  We both offer our products as well as a collection of items from some awesome local vendors we love; everything from fresh flowers to oyster necklaces.  Our favorite part of the shop might be the balloons we offer that keep bringing in the most fun customers!  We have everything from goofy balloons of the week to 4 sizes of confetti balloons.  We're having so much fun so we hope you come on by and see us the next time you're in Cannonborough!
