My Weekend Uniform: White & Chambray

Pardon me while I perseverate on wearing navy all summer long! I always think of it as the laid back & nautical kid sister of black; it really goes with anything and works for about any occasion here in Charleston.  I love how a dose of chambray can really add some interest to my mainly navy wardrobe, especially when you add a little tassel action! Southern Proper provided me with these fun chambray shoes to try and I couldn't be happier about it!  They could really be worn all summer long with any color of the rainbow. I paired them with my white jeans and my favorite CHS Aviate hat, which you can preorder now here in my online shop! These hats have been sold out almost all summer so don't miss them this time around!  They won't be ready to ship until approximately the week of 8/21, but if you're willing to wait you can get free local pick-up to save on shipping once they arrive!

The only other thing this outfit needed were some two-toned sunglasses, a touch of gold, and a gal pal and I was ready for happy hour by the sea.  Gold Creations let us wear the coolest rings that stack up great and you can find them right downtown in the City Market! Cheers to that and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Saturday Style: Liven Up your Living Room!

I recently teamed up with Pink Verbena for a fun video shoot with some tips to liven up any living room, and Abby Murphy helped us capture photos of the details.  Here are some easy updates you can adopt, along with a few recommendations of where to find great accents for your own space.  Some of the links are affiliate links (which I will earn a small commission from if someone besides my mom clicks on them).

Pops of Gold

I can't ever get enough gold in my house! Apparently I also gravitate toward lots of cutesy faux food accents but that's an issue for another day.  There is a candle hiding under this gold-topped pineapple and the gold lemon is actually a bottle opener.  It's "vintage" Anthropologie, but Kate Spade also has fun gold bottle openers.  Anchor your accents on a tray, like this gold lacquer one I found.

I love the idea of mixed prints; having several prints that match but don't really match are one of my favorite ways to decorate.  I think it's harder to get bored with a variety of patterns than if you just stick with one or two. Here I have used a several of green pillows in a variety of price ranges.  Leaves are kind of trendy yet also timeless; I think if you watch some Golden Girls reruns you will agree with me!  My favorite is the Beverly Palm print from Society Social, but don't underestimate the H&M home line where I found some great options, too!

While we are on the subject of palms and leafy green prints, don't forget to get the real thing! Fiddle leaf fig trees are all the rage and look quite cozy next to my bar cart (which is on sale!).  I added a palm plant (a $20 grocery store find) and put them both in baskets for a great look.  Add some fresh flowers to a round bowl for a finishing touch, like these hydrangeas from my garden that are barely making it through the Charleston summer.  Lately even my taste in candles incorporates my love for plants, like the awesome botanical candles from The Contents Co. They are handmade here in Charleston, and their lavender candle is now available in my online shop!

Friday Fete: Champagne and Tassels

I recently attended the opening of a fabulous new wedding gown atelier, Emily Kotarski Bridal.  Her custom designs make me want to get married all over again wearing her stunning sleeved dresses! Emily purchased One Hope sparkling brut to serve to her guests which also provided funding for the Center For Women. The Tiny Tassel and The Town Serif provided decor, Scoops & ABCD cakes covered the ice cream sandwiches, and Rachel Red Photography was there to capture it all. Coastal Bride has more details about the whole stunning event on her blog.

Entertaining is all about the details and Emily nailed it, wouldn't you agree?! Below you'll find some fancy but fun items if you're looking for similar decor for your next party.  Some of the following links are affiliate links, which means I will eventually receive compensation if someone besides my mom reads this post.

Gold Napkins: here and here  Tassel Garland: here  One Hope Brut: $18.99 here

 Cheers y'all!

Cheers, y'all!

Wednesday Wanderlust: Beaufort With My Beau

Beaufort is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Charleston and is such a delightful part of the Lowcountry.  I love it's quaint shopping, great restaurants, and slow-paced style. Here are some scenes from our weekend getaway and a few of my Beaufort recommendations!

Lowcountry Produce is our Beaufort breakfast favorite. I love their blue tin plates and gift items, but mostly I love the light and open interior.  The mint green wood with the white subway tile is too cute for words. It's a good place to sit for a meal, grab a bottle of wine, or stock up on all the lemons you could ever want!

Scout is super cute with a macaron and iced tea bar in the back. It's a great place for gifts, like some cotton stems or stationery.  You'll know it when you see it from the Carolina blue joggling board out front!

This is one of the most bikable towns ever, so bring or rent a beach cruiser! You can ride along the oak lined marsh on Bay Street and up and down all of the quaint streets (try East to Federal To Pickney and back along Bayard).

My fellow Beaufort visitors and I got quite awesome at relaxing on this trip and we can't wait to go back!

Charleston Life: A Spa Paradise!

The latest event I attended with the Charleston Blog Society was at Stox & Co, and I am so glad I was introduced to this place!   It's located at The Boulevard on Coleman and has an awesome assortment of jewelry (i.e. Charleston Rice Beads), makeup, and skincare products. I love that they carry a lot of high quality/organic brands.  Opting for natural products is so important for your overall health, which is why I carry botanical candles and fragrance free soaps in my online shop.  Stox & Co. treated us to plenty of wine and snacks and gave us an awesome swag bag.  I threw in a couple of my products like my Turkish towels so I hope everyone loved them!  It was a great event meeting lots of sweet bloggers and the incredible staff at Stox (who all have great skin BTW-so they must be doing something right!).

After this fun evening and meeting the really sweet staff I was super pumped when I heard I had won the free massage giveaway!  Rhonda gave me one of the TOP 3 MASSAGES I have ever had in my life, so this is by far the spa I would most recommend in the Charleston area.  You can tell by the looks of the place it's just oozing with relaxing vibes.  Thank you so much to Stox & Co. for everything, and also to Gillian Ellis for the great photos and coordinating the event.
