Earlier this summer we did a long weekend in California. We hit up Napa for just one night because it was otherwise completely booked from the Bottlerock music festival. Even that one night was worth the trip: I fell in LOVE with the White House Napa Valley Inn, enjoyed walking around downtown, and can't get over Domaine Carneros. You always have to start a day of wine tasting with bubbly, and this was such a great spot for some amazing champagne.
Where to Stay:
The White House Inn might be my favorite hotel ever. They aren't paying me to say that but I would gladly test out their other hotels anytime ;) All of the Lark Hotels are super cozy and quaint, but well below what you would expect to pay for such cute boutique hotels (usually around $200-250 a night). Candace and Scott are the General Managers at White House and made us feel right at home with a welcoming happy hour and an incredible breakfast spread. Don't you just love the details inside?
Outdoors at White House, I couldn't believe how much Napa reminded me of spring in Charleston! There was a ton of confederate jasmine, hydrangeas, and magnolia trees. Jonathan and I loved hanging by the pool and all around the gorgeous grounds.
Where to Eat:
We had a great meal downtown at Angele, which had deep fried deviled eggs! Well butter my biscuits, I do declare I thought I was still in the South! We ended with a stroll downtown along the peaceful riverfront area with even more gorgeous foliage. Side note: my favorite gingham summer dress seen above is on major sale here.
After Napa we headed north, so more on those stops in Yountville and Calistoga another time. Happy weekending y'all, and be sure to check out more adventures on Instagram. You never know when the #MartinsBeTrippin!
