One of my goals for my business this year was to invest in myself for a really fabulous conference. These can be such great opportunities for growth & connecting with other like-minded folks.  After experiencing some FOMO when I missed The Southern Coterie's Summit earlier in 2016,  I decided to strongly consider attending The Southern C Summit in Sea Island, Georgia (coming up February 8-10).  Well, enter my FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHER EVER (Gray Malin) as a guest speaker and that sealed the deal for me and I cannot wait to attend!  You might be like me (pre- Gray Malin fan girl realization), struggling with investing in a big conference when your business is still small.  Well, who better than the ladies who founded this awesome summit to offer up some insider knowledge about what you can expect?!

Meet my wonderful women crushes this week, the gals behind The Southern Coterie.  If you aren't already familiar, TSC is a great blog & online resource for southern entrepreneurs to connect and collaborate.  Founders Cheri Leavy & Whitney Long concocted the concept of having a "virtual front porch" for bloggers and business owners; a laid-back gathering place for creative minds to be inspired!  The Southern C Summit is basically an opportunity for this online platform to come to life, by way of a 3 day conference filled with tips and tricks for social media strategy, branding advice, blogger/brand collaborations, marketing, etc.  If you're trying to weigh the benefits of attending in February, below are 5 of Cheri & Whitney's favorite things about the upcoming Summit:

1. Once-In-A-Lifetime Pitch Opportunity

This Summit will have a "Media Pitch Panel" presented by Leapfrog PR, where you can pitch directly to the editors of of the big whigs like Coastal Living and Domino Magazine!  10 Summit attendees will get this incredible chance to showcase their brand to 4 of the best Editors in the biz.  See the application instructions here.

2. The Speakers are Kind of a Big Deal

Besides fine-art photographer Gray Malin, the rest of the line-up is also quite stellar.  Mandy Rye, founder & creative director of Waiting on Martha & Pinterest's creative strategist, Nikki Bazzani will be quite inspirational.  Other noteworthy brands that will be represented by speakers include: Domino Magazine, One Kings Lane, Better Homes & Gardens, & Traditional Home.

3.  Invaluable Small Group Networking

There will be a new "mentor round table" feature for this summit, where you can choose from 25 established entrepreneurs in your field and meet them face-to-face!  This will be limited to 10 people per group, and Whitney is excited about the potential for "many wonderful connections and collaborations" as a result.

4. Amazing Collaboration Potential

Speaking of connecting (#connectcollaboratecreate is what the Summit is all about), Cheri loves all of the collaborations that have come from past Summits!  "Every week we see events such as a shop hosting numerous alumni together or a blogger using props for styling from alumni.  Collaborations range from a 'Pimento Cheese Macaron' created by Proper Pepper Pimento Cheese and Treehouse Macarons to The Vine owners styling an outdoor porch photoshoot for Maggie Kennedy, Photography Director at Garden and Gun.  All of these ideas and relationships began at a Summit."

5. Fabulous Location

Sea Island, Georgia is going to be such a wonderful backdrop for creative minds to gather.  This area has 5 miles of private beaches along the Georgia coast, and the food is sure to be exceptional.  Whitney is excited that "we have a schedule packed with quintessential Sea Island experiences", on top of their signature Southern C Summit offerings.

I just cannot wait for February to get here; right about the time my online sales are usually a little slow will be the perfect time to get re-energized and re-inspired!  I hope to see you there, and please email me (charlestonweekender@gmail.com) if you decide to attend so we can connect!  You can still purchase tickets HERE, but I hear that over 1/2 of the spots are already taken.  This is the perfect Christmas gift to give to your business.  We are going to have a blast!
